Well, as you may know, I have many old junk computers that I can do whatever I want with.
They are crap, so most of the parts are going to the trash. Well, Jonathan saw all the spare
PC speakers and thought "why don't we do something with these". So, we gathered
up some stuff.
Here are some of the junk computers I was telling you about, after being stripped of
their PC speakers (and their virginity, but Jonathan doesn't want to talk about that
until after the pictures are taken of the net..).
Here's some more of our parts as we gather things up. Pictured: 3 PC speakers, a cable,
knives, rubberbands, paper towels, a box for a toaster and the stuff that was inside of it.
Here we have cut three holes on the top of the box and have put
the three PC speakers inside. We rubber cemented the speakers in and tied the wires
together in the back.
Here's some of the junk, and the rubber cement.
Here's the inside of the box. Two of the speakers have big magnets
and one has a smaller one.
We were watching MacGyver while we did this stuff, so we'd feel more like we were
defusing a bomb or something, rather than putting cheap speakers in a toaster box.
Here's an action shot of Jonathan wiring up the back.
Here's the front, all dry and ready to go. It may not look like it
from the picture but the bottom speaker was busted at the time.
So, as I fixed the speaker, Jonathan came up with a new idea. He decided to put the speakers
in cups because it would resinate the soun... ok so we don't know why, he just did it.
haha. Anyway, it may look kinda cheap now, but it seems a lot louder. We are going to
get some black nylons or something to cover it so you can't actually see the speaker and
it'll look kewl.
And here's the back, wires not sticking out and just a single cable.
Looks nice. Plays nice.
Here, listen to some samples:This is before the speakers-in-cups idea. | This is after the speakers-in-cups idea.
The speakers sound louder but you can't tell any difference between the sound clips haha. It's just Jonathan messing around on the guitar haha. The speakers are small and makes the sound a little distorted. It's actually on the clean setting I think. haha.
